The Day I Nearly Killed My Son’s Compassion

So beautiful! It’s true that children are sometimes very self-centered, but they also have pure hearts and generous spirits. It’s good to cultivate that. The selfish impulses can be redirected and outgrown. I don’t really see them as a problem, just something kids need to learn. It’s also so important to nurture their natural compassionate hearts and let our kids teach us how to be more and more open-hearted.

  2. That’s wonderful that you teach compassion-as adults, we are so used to seeing people take advantage, it makes it hard to want to help others

  3. Kate AL says:

Beautiful… I so admire parents who work to teach compassion and empathy to their children. I truly believe it is essential to raising a generation that is kinder than our own.

    • Eryn Lynum says:

Yes! I completely agree. Let’s all work together to make the world a better place, in the ways we raise the next generation. It all begins in our own homes 🙂 Thanks for the comment!

  4. Sane Mama says:

I love the wonderful lessons you are teaching your children. Now, if we could keep some of this compassion when we grow up…

    • Eryn Lynum says:

Yes 🙂 That is the trick, isn’t it? It is downright crazy how many times my children reteach me the very lessons I am trying to teach them…

  5. Rochelle says:

Our children humble and teach us every day!
