How Is Fruit Made?
When God created plants, He designed them to grow and to create more plants. Deep inside every flower is a small space called an ovary. This is where the seed-making process begins. Inside that ovary are tiny parts called ovules. Each ovule holds half the instructions needed to form a new plant.
When pollen reaches the flower, it brings the other half of the instructions. Once the pollen joins with an ovule, a seed begins to form. This is the very start of a new plant, hidden inside the flower long before fruit appears.
How the Ovary Becomes a Fruit
As soon as seeds begin developing, the ovary around them begins to grow and change. That growing ovary becomes the fruit. Every fruit you enjoy began as the ovary of a flower. Some fruits contain a single seed, such as cherries and peaches. Others hold dozens or even hundreds of seeds, like strawberries.
Whether large or small, every fruit has one main job: to protect the seeds inside. Fruit is a seed package designed to carry new life.
How Seeds Spread
Seeds cannot move on their own, so God designed many ways for seeds to travel. One of the most important is fruit. Many animals eat fruits, and the seeds travel through the animal’s body and end up in a new place with fresh soil and space to grow.
Other seeds travel in different ways. Some fruits dry and crack open, and the seeds are carried away by the wind. Some float on water. Some cling to fur or even to a hiker’s sock. No matter the method, the goal is the same: spread seeds so more plants can grow across the earth.
God’s Wisdom in the Design of Plants
Fruit is more than a sweet treat. It is a reminder of God’s creativity and kindness. Inside every raspberry, apple, or grape are seeds holding the complete instructions for a new plant. When God said, “Let the land produce vegetation,” He created plants with everything they needed to multiply and fill the world with beauty, food, and life.
